Annual Town Meeting

Every year, Diss Town Council hosts its Annual Town Meeting – a meeting of the electors of Diss, which is open to all town residents.

On 16th April 2024, Diss Town Council welcomed residents to its Annual Town Meeting (ATM), held at The Corn Hall. Chaired by the Town Mayor, Councillor Kieran Murphy, the event served as a platform for residents to engage with the Town, District and County Councils, find out more about projects in the town, voice their concerns, and contribute ideas for the benefit of Diss.

Residents perused information stands set up by various local groups including the Diss Youth Group, Police, Parish Fields Friends, Park Radio, Royal British Legion, Designermakers 21, Diss United Reformed Church, Diss Litterpicking and Dovelets Group.

Attendees also heard about the Waveney & Little Ouse Recovery Project, led by Suffolk Wildlife Trust, which is looking at land use changes to help restore the headwater’s hydrology, biodiversity, and climate resilience between Diss and Thetford. It is hoped the project will deliver increases in river water quality and better access for residents to their local natural environment.
