Diss Carnival 2026 Draws Thousands for a Day of Community Spirit and Celebration!

Thousands of people flocked to the streets of Diss on Sunday to enjoy a spectacular day of entertainment, creativity and community spirit as Diss Carnival returned with this year's theme, "Game On Diss!"

The vibrant carnival procession featured 16 imaginative floats and entries from a wide range of local community groups, clubs, schools, businesses and charities*. Crowds lined the streets along the route from Walcot Road to Park Road, creating a fantastic atmosphere as the procession travelled through! Participants showcased their interpretations of sports and games celebrating football, swimming, running, tennis, motor speedway, basketball, cheerleading, mouse trap and snakes and ladders!

This year's parade winners were:

• Best Float – 2^nd Diss Scouts for their creative Basketball entry

• Best Walking Group – Florence School of Dance for their energetic cheerleading

• Most Flamboyant Entry – The Garden Project Team for their impressive Mouse Trap game creation

  
  

Following the procession, festivities continued in the Park with the much-loved Carnival Fun Day. More than 50 stalls, two live entertainment areas, interactive activities and funfair rides provided entertainment for visitors of all ages throughout the afternoon.

Highlights included the aerial hoop display workshop, Kuk Sool Won demonstration, RPM Bike Show, inaugural Tug of War Competition, outdoor climbing wall and the fun dog show. The celebrations concluded with a lively performance from local covers band PRTY, bringing the event to a memorable close.

Mayor, councillor Declan Craggs, said on behalf of Diss Town Council said:

"Diss Carnival is one of the highlights of our town's calendar, and this year's event was a wonderful example of what makes our community so special. It was fantastic to see thousands of residents and visitors coming together to support local groups, charities, businesses and volunteers. The enthusiasm and community spirit on display throughout the day was wonderful to see. We would like to thank everyone who took part, attended, sponsored, volunteered or helped to organise the event and contributed to making it such a success."
