Skateboard Park Update
24 December 2024
Following consultation with a safety specialist, Diss Town Council has re-opened the Skateboard Park at the Sports Ground. There are minor works required which will be undertaken in due course but they are low risk allowing the facility to be used safely.
Prior to meeting with key users in the New Year, we will be meeting on site with a key user and specialist contractor to re-evaluate the essential works required. This will feed into the consultation meeting on 16th January and then into the next meeting of Council where the repairs will be considered.
I’d like to thank everyone who has responded to the consultation on the Skateboard Park. It has provided Diss Town Council with lots of useful data including the number of people who come from outside Diss to use this facility, which will inform future decision-making.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind you of our current public consultation on the Diss Youth & Community Centre and other facilities including the Sports Ground. We have had a reasonable response rate thus far but would like to hear from more of you. The deadline for responses is Monday 13th January 2025 and the online survey can be accessed on our webpage here: https://www.diss.gov.uk/diss-youth-community-centre.
Hard copies can be collected from the Town Council offices when we re-open after Christmas on Thursday 2nd January.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
From all councillors and staff at Diss Town Council.
