Keep The Corn Hall's heart beating

30 November 2020

Cornhall

Working with the local community to promote wellbeing is at the heart of everything on offer at The Corn Hall. And that commitment to care has never been so important.

Despite the challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic, The Corn Hall continues to support a range of art initiatives designed to promote wellbeing for people of any age, especially those who are vulnerable, isolated or disadvantaged.

Funding these initiatives is harder now than ever. But, with your help, there’s still lots that can be achieved. Here’s how…

The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2020

The Corn Hall has been selected to take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2020. Which means that if you make a donation between midday on Tuesday 1st and midday on Tuesday 8th December 2020 your gift will be matched and will have twice the impact. The target is £5000 in online donations which, doubled to £10,000, will go a long way to keeping the heart of art beating throughout Diss.

Art from the heart

Making a donation now will help support the delivery of the following initiatives:

  • Start with Art! (SWA!): The Corn Hall is expanding its offerings focused on young children by promoting equality of access to its SWA! programme. SWA! encourages children to express their creativity by exploring the art exhibitions on display and then taking part in linked creative activities.

  • Arts Awards: Designed for older children, The Corn Hall offers ‘Arts Awards’ at all levels, enabling young people to explore the arts and their own creativity in a lively venue.

  • Time with Friends: The Corn Hall’s dementia café provides a friendly, calm place of respite and support for those with dementia and their carers. The next café is planned for 14 December.

All programmes are run in conjunction with local arts professionals, providing much needed employment in this field.
