Have your say: DDNP follow-up consultation needs you

Following on from the 'Issues and Options' survey undertaken for the Diss & District Neighbourhood Plan (DDNP) earlier this year, several new housing sites and green spaces have been proposed.
Suggested sites include the former Mavery House Infant School in Diss for around ten dwellings, Brickleside in Brome and Oakley for thirty new homes and a village hall, and two sites in Scole for 25 new homes.
These sites represent potential new spaces for housing development in the future and have been suggested in some instances by landowners as well as by residents who took part in the first survey.
Following careful assessment by a government-approved third party planning consultancy, those sites that are potentially suitable for development in the future are outlined in the second survey and the communities covered in the DDNP area now have the opportunity to have their say on whether or not they agree with allocating these sites for future development.
"This is such an important issue," said Cllr David Burn, Chair of the DDNP Steering Group, "and we know many people have very strong feelings about how Diss and the surrounding villages develop in the future. The original survey was incredibly helpful in gauging people’s strength of feeling for a host of issues and options to do with their local area. This second survey is much shorter and focuses purely on newly suggested sites and local green spaces."
"We need to reach as many people as possible for this second survey," said Councillor Simon Olander of Diss Town Council. "As before, it can be completed quickly and anonymously online, or people can call their local parish clerk to request a copy be sent out to them."
Consultation is an important part of developing the Neighbourhood Plan and all the feedback received from residents and businesses will be fully considered alongside other evidence, such as independent assessments, when determining which sites will be allocated.
Here's where you come in.

You can share your views by filling in a very short survey. It's a lot shorter than the original survey and should only take a few minutes to complete.
It's available online at: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/DissNP/
Printed versions of the survey are available on request from your local parish clerk or by emailing: ddnp@diss.gov.uk.
The deadline to complete the survey is 5pm Monday December 7th.
If you have any problems launching the survey, please email ddnp@diss.gov.uk
And thank you. Your feedback and views are invaluable.
