Community Grants Awarded
13 October 2026
Diss Town Council has approved a grant of up to £1,000 for DISScovered to support the development of an accessible community crafting space. The funding will help the organisation create a welcoming space where residents can come together through creative activities. The award will be adjusted to reflect any additional external funding secured towards the cost of heaters, helping to ensure that Council funding is used effectively alongside other available support.
The Council has also awarded £530 to the Diss Community Woodland Project, supporting its Diss and District Tree Planting Project. The initiative aims to increase tree canopy cover, enhance biodiversity and encourage greater community involvement in improving the local environment. The grant is conditional on the funding being used for trees planted within Diss, with the project’s proposed venue costs redirected towards purchasing and planting additional trees in the town.
