Coming together to remember - Diss Remembrance Parade & Service 2025

12 November 2025

We* extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended this year’s Remembrance Parade, wreath laying ceremony, and service. Your support made a profound impact as we gathered to honour the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of our armed forces.

This year’s commemoration featured a parade of 40 different organisations along Mere Street, followed by a poignant wreath-laying ceremony on a traditional military battle drumhead altar on the Market Place and well-attended service in St Mary’s Church.

We are especially grateful to all the parade participants, volunteers, young reader representatives and those who laid wreaths as a mark of respect. Thank you all for helping make this day of Remembrance so meaningful.

The Mayor of Diss, Cllr Craggs said "This was my first Remembrance service as Town Mayor, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together in Diss to pay their respects. The turnout and the silence across the town were incredibly moving. From veterans and serving members of the forces to local families and young people, the whole community joined in an act of remembrance that I am proud of."

* The Remembrance commemoration is organised by a committee led by Diss Town Council, with representatives from the Diss & District Royal British Legion, Salvation Army, St Mary’s Church, RAFA, the army and air cadets, Diss High School and 1st Diss Scouts.
