Citizens Advice 'Have Your Say Event', this Friday

Help to shape the future of Citizens Advice Diss, Thetford & District! Local residents are being invited to share their views on the services provided by CAB during an informal open event this week.
All are welcome to attend the charity’s 'Have Your Say' drop-in event at its main Diss offices, in Market Place, on Friday 4th September, from 12pm to 2pm.
Staff and volunteers will be on hand to offer refreshments and listen to opinions, which will help shape the future services of Citizens Advice Diss, Thetford & District, ensuring they continue to respond to what people in the local community really need.
In particular, the team are keen to gather views on its community grocery store, The Shelf (located inside its offices), which offers fresh produce and everyday household items at discounted prices, as well as kindly donated food items from local growers and businesses which would otherwise go to waste.
For a small fee, anyone living within the district can become a member of The Shelf, which was set up to challenge the cost-of-living crisis.
Citizens Advice Diss, Thetford & District would like to know what products people would most like to see stocked, and what would make the store easier to access.
The charity also heavily relies on volunteers to continue its work, and the drop-in event will be an opportunity for anyone interested in offering their time to find out more about the roles available.
Chief Executive, Izzy Shaw, said: “We want to make sure the services we provide are genuinely shaped around the people who use them. The best way for us to understand what is working, what we could do better, and what people would like to see in the future, is to listen.
“We’re particularly keen to hear people’s thoughts on The Shelf – from the stock we offer to how easy the service is to access. Whether you use The Shelf regularly or have never used it at all, your views will be incredibly helpful.
“This is a relaxed opportunity to come along, have a chat and a cuppa, and tell us what you think. We really hope local residents will take the time to join us and have their say.”
