Celebrating 4 Years of Diss Litterpicking Group

29 July 2025

The Diss Litterpicking Group have recently celebrated their fourth anniversary and continue to work hard to keep Diss a clean and tidy place to live! The group meets on the second Saturday of every month, at 10am at the DYCC on Shelfanger Rd. From there, they head out until midday to pick litter in various areas across town, often locations suggested by local residents. At midday, we bring all collected litter back to the DYCC for disposal before enjoying some well earned drinks and refreshments!

George Waterman, founder of the Diss Litterpicking Group said "Our team has made a massive difference to the cleanliness of Diss since we first began in 2021, but there is always more out there for us to tackle, therefore we always welcome new volunteers or supporters for our group! No sign up or registration is required to join us, with people of any age or ability welcome to join us, and all equipment needed to take part is provided! We can also provide volunteering experience for young people completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award, having already helped several young residents gain the hours they need in order to pass the Award!"

If you are interested in learning more, or would like to suggest a future litterpicking location, the group can be found on Facebook (Diss Litterpicking Group), or via email disslitterpicking@gmail.com
