Carnival fans - Get ready to Game On!

Diss Carnival returns on Sunday 7th June, promising another vibrant celebration as one of the town’s most anticipated annual events. This year’s theme, “Game On Diss”, invites the community to embrace the spirit of play, competition, and sporting heritage - particularly fitting as 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of England’s historic 1966 World Cup victory.
A key highlight of the day will be the Carnival Procession, departing from the High School at 12.30pm and travelling through the town centre to the park. There are 18 exciting entries confirmed for this year, each having chosen a sport or game to represent for this year’s theme!
On arrival at the park, visitors will find over 50 stalls including food and drink vendors, crafts, charities, gifts, have-a-go activities and more!
The entertainment programme promises a full afternoon of activity, including the RPM Display Team bike show, a fun dog show (on-the-day entries), aerial performance by Suelala, a Kuk Sool Won demonstration, Tai Chi, and high-energy themed dance fitness from Tribe Collective. New for 2026 is the Diss Carnival Tug of War Competition, with teams of four invited to compete for the title of champions. Entry details are available online. Later in the day, live music from covers band PRTY will keep the party atmosphere going even longer!
Families will also be well catered for, with attractions including Larry Gray & Sons Funfair rides, Fenland Adventure climbing wall, Foolhardy Circus arena show and workshops, alongside free activities in the Diss Baptist Church Kids Tent and a giant games area.
Community involvement extends beyond the main event, with the Window Dressing Competition running from 8th May to 8th June. Over 15 shops have decorated their windows to fit this year’s theme – they look fantastic!
New for 2026 is the Dinsdale Duck Trail, featuring 20 sporting-themed Dinsdale sculptures displayed in shop windows across the town. Can you find them all? Collect a free trail map from the Corn Hall or No.8 Marketplace to start the search!
The Diss Carnival Raffle has over 20 fantastic prizes donated by local businesses, including dining vouchers, brewery tours, retail experiences, beauty treatments, sports memberships, and luxury gifts. Tickets cost £2 and are available from Diss Market Place stall on Friday 5th June, Diss Town Council Offices, and on the day of the event at the OPS tent.
