Carnival '26 gets ready to play with “Game On Diss” theme!

Lace up your trainers, step up to the starting line and get ready for kick-off! Diss Carnival Parade & Fun Day returns on Sunday 7th June 2026, and this year the town is going sporty with the theme “Game On Diss!” - a celebration of all sports, games, friendly competition and community fun for all ages.
The theme is especially fitting, as 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of England’s iconic 1966 World Cup win, making it a brilliant opportunity to celebrate sporting history alongside modern games, creativity and community spirit.
From football, rugby, cricket and tennis to BMX biking, cheerleading, golf, bowling, gymnastics, winter sports and beyond, participants are invited to choose any sport or game they love and showcase it in the parade! And remember, games aren’t just sporty - board games and computer games are welcome too, so get creative and bring them to life!
Your chosen sport or hobby can be showcased in any way you like - traditional, quirky or extreme! Celebrate a sporting hero, recreate a memorable sporting moment, or take the chance to promote a local club or sports team! The more ideas, colours and energy on display, the better - after all, teamwork makes the dream work!
The Fun Day will once again be full of family fun, stalls, free live entertainment and have-a-go activities, inspired by sports, games and a healthy dose of carnival craziness. Ideas currently being explored include mini sports day fun, Olympics-style silly challenges, “It’s a Knockout”-style games, inflatable sumo suits, crazy golf, a climbing wall, hobby horse racing, dance fitness and wellbeing sessions and live demonstrations throughout the day - plus a few surprises along the way. Whether you’re joining in, cheering from the sidelines or just having a go for fun, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy. If you have any other ideas, please do get in touch!
