VE Day virtual celebration

This year marked the 75thAnniversary the Victory in Europe.  I am on the Committee which had made plans for the whole of the town to take part, but due to the spread of the virus these plans have been put on the back burner.  So I was very pleased that I could in some way support the town if only through the guidelines of social distancing.  

I gave the toast at 3pm to those at a great distance saying the words, “To those who gave so much, we thank you!”  I walked around and saw lovely community spirit with so many people sitting in their gardens, dressed up, with bunting, dancing, and reflection.  I spoke with many on my walk and it was good that people were enjoying themselves.
