Happy residents thanks to new path!
A little while ago, Diss Town Council asked some people about the lack of pathway around Burston Road to Heywood Road. Some of us found it difficult because we use wheelchairs and the big lorries worried us. Others were worried about walking because of the lorries and cars. Now there is a lovely new path and we can go into Diss without worrying. Thanks to everyone at Diss Town Council for helping us feel safe. -Heywood Grange
Thanks to Melissa
Thanks so much Melissa for your help, good advice and friendliness on the phone. I just thought I’d let you know that I’m now booked in at the ‘Cobwebs’ B and B in Denmark Street for my two nights in August.
One BIG THANK YOU!
Very best wishes,

A thanks for your hard work!
Me & my husband live in Diss and would like to send thanks and appreciation for the hard work which has so obviously gone into areas of Diss. The path through the church yard has really enhanced the already beautiful churchyard. Also the planting around town along with the new boardwalk is a wonderful addition to what the town offers!
Big thanks from Merryfields!
“We finally have enough children to open our extended hours for 3 days a week. Merryfields is now full for the time being with a healthy waiting list. As you know this has taken a while to achieve. We have achieved it and we could not be prouder.
Huge thanks to you, the Town Council and everyone involved with the Sports Pavilion. Without your continued support we would not be in this position, so from everyone at Merryfields; committee; staff; parents and children. Thank you 😊 “
The Churchyard paths look great!
“On behalf of the Team Ministry and Congregation at St Marys Church, may I say a big thank you to the Town Council for the excellent job done on the pathways. We very much appreciate the care you take of our churchyard. Yours sincerely, Janet Blight ( Church Warden) “
With thanks from Australia!
“Hello, just a few words from Maryborough, Victoria, Australia. I was just searching as a part of our family history, as I found numerous generations of my partners (Cason) family being born in Diss. I had never heard of it before, so decided to have a look. I would like to compliment you on your gallery photos, as it gave me a very good idea of life in Diss today. Thank you for sharing, regards Lois.”
Speed Sign improves traffic on Denmark Street
Thank you for moving the speed sign to Denmark Street- we’ve noticed a huge improvement with traffic coming down the hill. Previously, we have had difficulties crossing the road due to speeding traffic but recently, we have noticed a change. Thank you so much for your help- Linda.
“Dear Sarah, Thanks for your e-mail to say your tree surgeon will be removing the Cypress on Rectory Meadow next week. That is really good news to hear. I will tell my neighbours- they will be so relieved. Once again thank you. Regards, Carol Nichols “
A grateful charity!
“Please pass on my thanks to your Town Mayor, Trevor Wenman, for the invite that Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind has received to his Charity Ball on 24th of March. I would have liked to attend and support his fundraising efforts but I will be travelling back from holiday on that date. Once again thank you for supporting Mind and our work to help people who experience poor mental health. I wish you an enjoyable evening. Kind regards, John Brierley. Chairman Norwich and Norfolk Central Mind”
Tremendous work on the HTP!
“A lovely elderly gentleman just popped in to praise the workers and Diss Town Council staff for their ‘tremendous work on the Heritage Triangle Project’. He thinks it’s a great improvement and important for us to make modern changes to go forward, not backwards! He said to keep positive and “hard work always pays off!” He’s looking forward to the completed boardwalk and gardens area! Well done all!”- Kimberley, Administrative & Marketing Assistant.
“Dear all. Many thanks for all your patience and hard work in helping me run the Heritage Triangle Launch Day. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank You! Lots of Love, from Fiona x”
Happy handrail customer!
“I visited your office a while ago to express my concerns that there wasn’t a handrail on the new gardens near the boardwalk. Having returned today, I could see that works are taking place to fit one. I’m very pleased! Thank you- That’s made my day!”

Heritage Triangle has the WOW factor!
“Dear Sir, My wife and I were taken by my Sister-In-Law, Alison Bannister, for a walk around Diss. She wanted to show me the work that has been achieved in renovating the Heritage Triangle. We were both very impressed with the new image, the Corn Hall development and the many small shops within the Triangle. The new view of the Mere behind the Council Offices is very impressive and the boardwalk is delightful! The foresight and planning of the improvements are a credit to your Town Council. Congratulations!”- David Bannister.
“Please pass on just how absolutely lovely it is to see the website busy and full of news and community stuff. It really does look loved and I’m super proud to look around it and see all the lovely extras and details that are there now -You guys are all awesome, and people don’t tell you enough!” -Rosie Hall
Shout out to our Town Councillors!
“We wouldn’t be able to function as a Town Council without the hard work from our voluntary Town Councillors who give up their spare time to help make difference in the community. Our 13 councillors are dedicated to helping the town, suggesting ways to resolve current issues and encouraging positive change for the benefit of our community. Thanks all for your dedication!” Sarah Richards- Deputy Town Clerk
The removal of bees!
“Thank you for your quick response to my call about a swarm of bees in my garden. They were gathered up and safely removed within not much time at all!” -Ann Ward
Reunited with an old friend!
“Dear Sirs, I’m writing to acknowledge the wonderful service given by Kimberley. When I called at the office it was to try and track down an old friend who had moved to Diss. Kimberley did her ‘Sherlock Holmes’ bit and managed to find them for me! We are finally meeting up for a catch up after 25 years. Thank you!”- Mrs Bertram.

Dec 2017- Please pass on my thanks and appreciation to your Mayor, Trevor Wenman, for the invite to your Christmas Carol concert and the hospitality I received. I found the evening very enjoyable. I would also like to express my thanks to Trevor for the positive things he said about mental health and the importance of the work we are doing at MIND in Norfolk.
