From the 9th to 15th October 2017, Diss will be hosting a Food & Drink Festival!

Friday 13th and Saturday 14th October will see both the traditional town market as well as the Farmer’s market, demonstrations and workshops at the Corn Hall, followed by the 8th Corn Hall Beer Festival in the evening.

Celebrate local restaurants,cafes and pubs throughout the week with twenty of them to try! Why not taste your way around Diss!

This week, many are offering specials and tastings such as:

Fredericks Fine Foods, Browne’s Butchers- Banger Bonanza, Amandines, Katie’s Kitchen, Natural Food Store, Happy Palace, Frederick’s at The Corn Hall and many more…

Looking for demonstrations? There are a mix of demos this year in the Corn Hall gallery. The demos are free but since the Food Festival has to be self-financing, voluntary donations of £2, and £5 for wine tasting would be much appreciated. DEMOS AVAILABLE: From Adnams With Love (a taste of Adnams wines)- 13th Oct 2:30pm-3:30pm, Gluten Free Goodies (an introduction to gluten free and tasters)- 14th Oct 2pm-3pm, Apples into nectar- the magic of cider  by You Can Brew It (bring your own apples and bottles to press into delicious fresh juice, only two bottles each)- 14th Oct 3pm-4pm, The Ferndale Experience- the art of cheese making (tasters and a talk about how Ferndale Cheeses are made)- 13th Oct 4pm-5pm, It’s all about Botanicals- Greensand Ridge talks about making Gin, Fruit Brandies and Rums( with tasters and an insight into their award-winning spirits!)- 14th Oct 3pm-4pm.

AND FINALLY, the popular Corn Hall Beer, Gin & Rum Festival!- Fri 13th 5pm-11pm, Sat Noon-11pm, Sun Noon-4pm. The Big Grain Bar will be in the main hall serving chilled cask beers on gravity with a range of beer styles and breweries to choose from, including a selection from resident brewers “Grain”. At the “new” bar, it’ll be gin and rum combos a go-go! Give them a try! Including live music, delicious food from Frederick’s Cafe, games, quizzes and a brilliant atmosphere, this is always a highlight in the beer connoisseur’s calendar!
