A bit later than usual, the Eye Christmas Lights Switch On takes place on Friday 7th December. Gather around the tree from around 5.30pm with the Christmas lights due on at 6.00pm.
Carol singers from Eye Primary School will help provide the Christmas spirit and Eye’s shop and businesses will be open late to tempt you with some festive treats. Also selling goodies will be stalls run by volunteers from local organisations and charities, as well as street food (saves you cooking dinner that night!), a kiddies’ fun fair, entertainment at The Bank Arts Centre and some tasty grub at The Queen’s Head. And Park Radio will be belting out festive hits all evening.
It should be a cracking event with a wonderful community spirit, so do come along, meet up with your friends and family, and join in the fun.
Please bear in mind that the road through the centre of town will be closed from 4.30pm to 8.00pm and that parking spaces in the town centre will be closed off from about 1.00pm – the organisers say sorry for the inconvenience but it’s for the sake of safety. And it is Christmas, after all…
