Diss Heritage Triangle – Regeneration Scheme – overnight resurfacing on Church Street
As part of the Diss Heritage Triangle works we were required to remove the double yellow lines to coincide with the new Restricted Parking Zone (RPZ). This involved the removal of the double yellow lines throughout the triangle. Where there was no resurfacing works completed it was required that the lines be removed through a high-powered line removal jet.
When the lines were removed on Church Street, it unfortunately caused some minor damage to the road surface close to the kerb line. To avoid future maintenance issues developing in that area we will be resurfacing the full width of the carriageway.
As this is a busy street in the centre of town we have programmed the work to take place overnight to minimise disruption. We plan to carry out the work between 7pm-7am on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 November 2017. The work is weather dependent so in the event of bad weather we may need to carry out the resurfacing later in the week on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night.
To complete the works Church Street will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians with a vehicle diversion route in place via Mount Street and Uplands Way and a pedestrian route sign posted.
The Emergency services are aware of the traffic management but will always have access to properties if required.
The works will cost approximately £6,000 and are being carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
